About Aubert

Mark and Teresa Aubert make single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Estate Chardonnays come from Goldridge-soil hills around Forestville: Lauren, usually the most concentrated; CIX, on very white soil, aromatic and broad; Park Avenue; and Powder House, planted to a rare clone. Others come from Hudson and Larry Hyde & Sons in Carneros, Eastside in the Russian River Valley, UV-SL near the Pacific, and the Sugar Shack estate in Rutherford. Chardonnay ferments slowly in barrel on native yeasts, with full malolactic, no lees stirring and up to 75% new oak; the wines run around 15% alcohol and are made to age a decade or more. Pinot Noir (UV, UV-SL, CIX, Park Avenue) is whole-cluster fermented.
