About Dugat-Py
Domaine Dugat-Py in Gevrey-Chambertin farms about 12 ha organically, two of them worked by horse, and is built on old vines. Its grands crus are Chambertin (only half a barrel in 2016), Mazis-Chambertin from vines over 60 years old, Charmes-Chambertin and the floral, supple Mazoyères-Chambertin. Premiers crus include Lavaux St-Jacques, Petite Chapelle, Champeaux and Corbeaux, while Coeur de Roy is a village Gevrey from vines up to about a century old; Pommard, Vosne and Meursault bottlings complete the range. Fermentations are long and use whole clusters (the 2023 Mazis had 90%, then 16–18 months in barrel). The wines show power, richness and purity, with concentration and silky texture.
