About Domaine Bizot

Domaine Bizot is Jean-Yves Bizot's tiny Vosne-Romanée estate of about 3.5 ha, mostly old vines planted before 1960, farmed organically for very low yields. From Vosne come three village cuvées, the best known being Les Jachées from 1930 vines. Its half-hectare of Échezeaux splits into Les Orveaux, bottled as grand cru, and Les Treux, usually declassified to Vosne premier cru. Bourgogne Rouge Le Chapitre and Marsannay Clos du Roy complete the reds, with tiny amounts of white from Les Violettes and the Hautes-Côtes. Bunches are not destemmed, sulphur is minimal, and every wine sees new barrels from the Rousseau cooperage, bottled by hand: aromatic, spicy, silky and savoury.
