About Antinori
Marchesi Antinori's flagship reds grow on the Tignanello estate in Chianti Classico. Tignanello, from about 77 ha of limestone-rich slopes at 350–400 m, is mainly Sangiovese with small shares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc; it ages about 13 months in predominantly new oak, mostly French with a little Hungarian, and is juicy and silky, with cherry, violet and pencil lead. Solaia, from roughly 20 ha of stony alberese and galestro on the same hill, flips the recipe, led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc, with blackcurrant, plum and licorice and silky tannins. Antinori also makes Bolgheri reds at Guado al Tasso, the Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico and Chardonnay-led Cervaro della Sala.
