About Produttori del Barbaresco
Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative of more than 50 growers that vinifies only Nebbiolo. Every year it makes a Langhe Nebbiolo from the youngest vines and a Barbaresco blended from sites across the DOCG, fermented in steel with about 24 days on the skins and aged roughly 20 months in large oak. In vintages judged excellent it adds nine single-cru Riservas made identically, with 28-day macerations and at least 30 months in 25–50 hl casks: Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora, Rabajà and Rio Sordo. Asili is elegant, complex and sinuous; Rabajà is more structured and densely fruited than Asili; Montestefano, on calcareous limestone, is full and enveloping, nicknamed "the Barolo of Barbaresco".
