About Hubert Lignier

Domaine Hubert Lignier in Morey-Saint-Denis, run by Laurent Lignier, farms about 11 ha organically (certified 2019), mostly old massal-selection vines, the oldest planted in 1936. Clos de la Roche is the flagship, alongside a separate Cuvée MCMLV; it is dark-fruited, dense and mineral, with firm but fine tannins. Other grands crus are Charmes- and Mazoyères-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot, alongside Morey premiers crus such as Chaffots, La Riotte, Chenevery and Blanchards, plus Gevrey Combottes and Chambolle Baudes. Some whole clusters are kept; wines age about 20 months in barrel, 20–30% new, and are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
