About Domaine Fourrier

Domaine Fourrier, run by Jean-Marie Fourrier in Gevrey-Chambertin, farms about 10 ha, mostly Pinot Noir, and bottles only fruit from vines 30 years or older. The Gevrey-Chambertin Vieille Vigne blends a dozen-plus old parcels planted between the 1920s and 1950s; Morey-Saint-Denis comes from Clos Solon. Gevrey premiers crus include Cherbaudes, Goulots, Combe aux Moines (0.87 ha) and Clos Saint-Jacques (0.89 ha); the only grand cru is a 0.26 ha Griotte-Chambertin plot planted in 1928. Fruit is mostly destemmed and fermented on native yeasts, then kept on its lees without racking or filtration, with new oak capped at 20%. The wines are pure, transparent and fresh.
