About Domaine de la Romanee-Conti

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti makes only grands crus. The reds are Pinot Noir: the 1.81 ha Romanée-Conti monopole, which the domaine evokes as velvet, seduction and mystery; the 6.06 ha La Tâche monopole, elegant and vigorous with frequently firm tannins; Richebourg (3.51 ha), Romanée-St-Vivant (5.28 ha), Grands Échezeaux (3.52 ha), Échezeaux (4.67 ha) and Corton. The whites are Montrachet (0.67 ha, about 250 cases) and Corton-Charlemagne (2.91 ha, taken on under a sharecropping lease in 2018), for which the domaine quotes Jean-François Bazin on its golden sap and breadth. Vines are farmed organically, some plots biodynamically, with horses ploughing Romanée-Conti and Montrachet, and yields average around 25 hl/ha against a 35 hl/ha limit.
