About Vietti

Vietti, a Castiglione Falletto house owned by the Krause family since 2016, farms about 75 ha and bottles many Langhe single vineyards. Its Barolo MGA range covers Rocche di Castiglione, Brunate, Cerequio, Lazzarito, Monvigliero and Ravera, plus a Villero Riserva; Barbaresco comes from Rabajà (Riserva) and Roncaglie. Rocche di Castiglione, from south-facing sandy marl planted in 1950 and 1968, macerates about a month and spends some 30 months in oak casks, giving a silky Barolo scented with rose and mandarin and with well-knit tannins. Single-vineyard Barbera d'Alba comes from Vigna Scarrone and the old-vine Vigna Vecchia Scarrone, the latter full-bodied with ripe red and black cherry. Whites include Roero Arneis and Derthona Timorasso.
