About Pol Roger

Pol Roger, a family-owned Épernay house with 87 ha of vines, ages its wines in cellars 33 metres below street level, where bottles are still riddled by hand. Brut Réserve blends Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay in equal thirds from about 30 crus, with 25% reserve wine and four years in the cellar, giving pear, brioche and honeyed notes. Brut Vintage is usually 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, aged seven to eight years. The Blanc de Blancs draws on Côte des Blancs grands crus for chalk-and-flint minerality and a saline finish. Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, Pinot-led from grand crus, is made only in the best vintages and released after the house's other vintages.
