About Maison Louis Jadot
Maison Louis Jadot, the Beaune négociant owned by its US importer Kobrand, makes wines across Burgundy and Beaujolais from bought grapes and its own vines, including about 60 ha in the Côte d'Or held through Louis Jadot, the Héritiers Louis Jadot (whose label is on Beaune premier cru Clos des Ursules), Domaine André Gagey and a long lease with the Duc de Magenta. Red fermentations start naturally without temperature control, generally peaking around 32°C, with macerations often of three weeks or more; the reds are rich and powerful and repay keeping. Whites often have malolactic partly blocked to keep acidity. Château des Jacques makes estate cru Beaujolais including Moulin-à-Vent, and Domaine Ferret makes Pouilly-Fuissé.
