About Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer, the family-owned Reims house, grows about two-thirds of its own grapes on some 240 ha across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs, much of it farmed organically or biodynamically. Its numbered multi-vintage Collection, which replaced Brut Premier, is built on a perpetual reserve begun in 2012: Collection 245 was 55% 2020 wine, 35% perpetual reserve and 10% oak-aged reserves. Vintage is roughly 70% Montagne de Reims Pinot Noir with Chardonnay; Blanc de Blancs draws on Avize and Cramant. Cristal, made only in the best years, is about 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, aged about six years in the cellars; Cristal Rosé uses saignée.
