About Krug
Krug, an LVMH-owned Reims house, vinifies the pressing from each plot separately, uses small 205-litre oak casks and keeps a library of around 150 reserve wines for blending. Grande Cuvée is the multi-vintage core, re-created every year: the 172ème Édition joins 146 wines spanning 1998 to 2016, 42% of them reserves, in 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, with hazelnut, nougat, brioche and honey flavours. The Rosé includes a skin-fermented Pinot Noir. Krug Vintage expresses a single year and rests at least a decade in the cellars. Two walled plots complete the range: Clos du Mesnil, 1.84 ha of Chardonnay, chiselled and citrus-led, and Clos d'Ambonnay, 0.68 ha of Pinot Noir.
