About Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet makes white Burgundy from vines farmed biodynamically for over 25 years, some horse-ploughed. Its 4.8 ha of grands crus span Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Montrachet, whose roughly 300 bottles a year are held back ten years before release. Premiers crus include Les Pucelles (2.8 ha of fine clay-limestone), the almost 4.8 ha Clavoillon, Folatières, Combettes and Meursault Sous le Dos d'Âne; the Puligny village blends seven plots. Grapes are pressed slowly and settled cold, then aged a year in oak and six months in steel, across two winters. Over 25 ha in the Mâconnais, labelled Domaines Leflaive, add Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon-Verzé parcel cuvées.
