About Domaine Georges Roumier

Domaine Georges Roumier farms more than 12 ha in and around Chambolle-Musigny. Its Bonnes-Mares (1.39 ha) is split evenly between Terres Blanches marl, giving spice and white flowers, and Terres Rouges clay-limestone, adding richness; the two are vinified apart and blended, and the domaine likens the result to Morey's force with Chambolle's complexity. Les Amoureuses (0.40 ha) is elegant, airy and silky. A 0.10 ha sliver of Musigny, Ruchottes- and Charmes-Chambertin, Les Cras, Les Combottes and the 2.6 ha Morey monopole Clos de la Bussière complete the reds; Corton-Charlemagne is the only white. Fruit is 65–90% destemmed, fermented with wild yeasts and aged 14–16 months with 15–30% new oak, unfined and unfiltered.
