About Domaine de Montille

Domaine de Montille, Etienne de Montille's family estate in Volnay, farms about 37 ha organically and biodynamically across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Its reds are built around Volnay premiers crus Taillepieds (1.51 ha), Champans, Mitans and Carelle Sous Chapelle, Pommard Rugiens and Pézerolles, Corton Clos du Roi and Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts, whose vines just below La Tâche are bottled separately as Cuvée Christiane. Reds ferment with a third to all whole clusters and see 5–45% new oak, giving spice, freshness and long ageing. Whites, from Puligny Caillerets, Meursault Perrières and Corton-Charlemagne to Chevalier-Montrachet, ferment in 228- and 600-litre barrels averaging 15% new.
