About Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart, owned by the Pinault family's Artémis Domaines, is a 7.53 ha walled grand cru monopole in Morey-Saint-Denis. Unusually, its vines run north–south across the slope, and its clay-limestone soils, more limestone below and more marl above, form twelve micro-climats picked and vinified separately in wooden vats before blending. The grand vin comes from vines averaging about 60 years and is traditionally concentrated, ripe and slow to mature, historically raised for about 18 months in new oak; farming has been certified organic since 2018. Younger vines make La Forge de Tart, a Morey premier cru for earlier drinking, and since 2018 a village Morey-Saint-Denis.
