About Chateau Haut-Brion

Haut-Brion, the Domaine Clarence Dillon first growth in Pessac, farms 51 ha of quartz-pebble gravel over clay and limestone: about 48 ha of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a little Petit Verdot, plus roughly 3 ha of Sémillon and Sauvignon. The red grand vin spends 18–20 months in barrel, the share of new oak set each vintage; the estate calls it elegant, very mineral and long. Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, the second red, follows the same elegant line. Haut-Brion Blanc, a rare Sémillon-Sauvignon white, is aromatically rich, while La Clarté draws white fruit from both Haut-Brion and La Mission.
