About Alain Hudelot-Noellat
Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat, led by Alain's grandson Charles Van Canneyt since 2008, farms about 10 ha across Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, almost all Pinot Noir. Three grands crus top the range: old-vine Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg (a 0.28 ha plot) and a 0.69 ha parcel of Clos de Vougeot. Premiers crus include Vosne-Romanée Suchots, Beaumonts and Malconsorts, Chambolle Charmes, Nuits Murgers and Vougeot Petits Vougeots; Bourgogne Aligoté is the white. After about three weeks' maceration in concrete vats with native yeasts, some cuvées with whole bunches, wines age 18 months in barrel, with more new oak for the top sites. Expect elegant, floral, red-fruited wines with fine tannins and bright acidity.
