About Bevan Cellars
Bevan Cellars is Russell Bevan's Napa label, made from sourced fruit at vineyards whose farming he insists on controlling, and released twice a year: spring for lighter Sonoma County Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, autumn for Napa Bordeaux-style reds. Ontogeny is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville's Tench Vineyard, topped up from other sites. Single-site reds include Tench Cabernet (92% Cabernet with Merlot in 2016), the EE red from Tench, a Merlot-Cabernet Franc from rocky Sugarloaf, Wildfoote in Stags Leap, and 1.3-acre Sentinel Ridge on Howell Mountain. Expect opulent, dense wines with toasty oak, cassis and mocha, approachable young yet able to cellar for years.
