About Turley
Turley Wine Cellars, founded by Larry Turley with cellars in St. Helena and Templeton, specialises in old-vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, having made wine from more than 50 California vineyards, many with vines from the late 1800s, all certified organic or in transition. Single-vineyard bottlings include Pesenti, planted in the 1920s, Del Barba and the Napa estate. Juvenile is the reverse idea: Zinfandel from young vines replanted among old-vine sites like Hayne and Pesenti, tagged and picked separately for an approachable, entry-level wine. Fermentations use native yeast; Juvenile, for example, spends about 12 months in mostly used French and American barrels and is bottled unfined.
