About Ridge
Ridge, owned by Otsuka, is known for single-vineyard wines. Monte Bello, grown at 1,300–2,760 feet in the Santa Cruz Mountains on fractured limestone under Franciscan greenstone, is a Cabernet Sauvignon blend (86% in 2022, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) aged about 21 months in new, mainly American oak; Ridge expects two decades or more of development. Its Sonoma Zinfandel blends are aged 16 months in air-dried American oak, mostly older barrels: Geyserville, roughly 70% Zinfandel with Carignane and Petite Sirah, dark-fruited and supple, and Lytton Springs, richer in Petite Sirah, from vines dating to 1901. Fermentation relies on native yeasts, and labels list every ingredient.
