About Paul Hobbs

Paul Hobbs Winery in Sebastopol works with Sonoma Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Estate sites include Katherine Lindsay (13 acres of Pinot on Laguna Ridge), Ross Station and Edward James for Chardonnay on Goldridge sandy loam, Goldrock and Cleary on the Sonoma Coast, and Nathan Coombs in Coombsville for Bordeaux varieties; Cabernet also comes from Beckstoffer To Kalon and Dr. Crane. Everything ferments on native yeasts, ages in fine-grained French oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Russian River Pinot sees a little whole cluster and about 10 months in barrel; the vineyard Cabernets get around 20 months in mostly new oak and show tight, linear fruit and grippy structure.
