About Kosta Browne

Kosta Browne, a Sebastopol winery owned by Duckhorn, specialises in Pinot Noir, with appellation and single-vineyard bottlings, plus Chardonnay and a sparkling wine programme. Its Russian River Valley sources include Keefer Ranch, Giusti Ranch, Treehouse, El Diablo and Bootlegger's Hill. In 2016 it acquired Cerise Vineyards above Boonville in Anderson Valley, mostly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at 700 to 1,700 feet. Sourcing also reaches the Santa Lucia Highlands, Sta. Rita Hills, Oregon's Eola Springs and Shea, and a Burgundy Series. Once known for heavily extracted wines from very ripe grapes, it has moved since 2015 toward less extraction; its winemaker says the wines combine richness and refinement.
