About Hall
HALL, Kathryn and Craig Hall's Napa Cabernet house, takes about half its fruit from roughly 150 acres of estate vineyards and the rest from growers across the valley. The flagship Kathryn Hall Cabernet comes mainly from the Sacrashe Vineyard in Rutherford, supple with blackberry fruit. Bergfeld, from a gravelly St. Helena valley-floor site, is ripe with dusty tannins; Jack's Masterpiece is savoury, with grainy, chewy tannins; Rainin Vineyard, a barrel selection from volcanic Diamond Mountain soils, appears only in top years. Wines cold-soak, ferment with native and cultured yeasts and age in French oak, mostly at least half new, before further bottle age ahead of release.
