About Fontodi

Fontodi, the Manetti family's organic estate, farms about 110 ha mostly in Panzano's Conca d'Oro, a south-facing bowl of limestone-rich galestro and alberese soils at 250–700 m. Its Chianti Classico and Flaccianello are pure Sangiovese, fermented with native yeasts in steel for at least three weeks. Flaccianello della Pieve, an IGT from the best hilltop plots near 480 m, spends about two years in French barriques and casks and is powerful and fleshy, with dark cherry, violet and spice. Vigna del Sorbo is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from 55-year-old southwest-facing vines. Case Via Syrah and Pinot Noir and Filetta di Lamole round out the range.
