About Eisele Vineyard

Eisele Vineyard, owned since 2013 by François Pinault's Artémis Domaines, is a 38-acre biodynamically farmed vineyard on a cobbly volcanic alluvial fan east of Calistoga, cooled by breezes through the Chalk Hill Gap. About three quarters is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The flagship Eisele Cabernet comes from older sedimentary blocks along Simmons Creek: elegant and precise rather than powerful, with cassis, cedar and a mineral finish, ageing for decades. Altagracia, from the bouldery eastern blocks, is broader and more approachable. Piedras, a new bottling, isolates clay-rich volcanic lower slopes for stony tension. Estate Syrah and a Sauvignon Blanc blending Musqué and standard clones complete the range.
