About Domaine Ponsot

Domaine Ponsot of Morey-Saint-Denis, run by Rose-Marie Ponsot since 2017, is the largest owner in Clos de la Roche: 2.2 ha in the original lieu-dit plus 1.15 ha on the lower Monts Luisants slope. Its Cuvée Vieilles Vignes blends both, pairing power with very silky tannins for long ageing. Chapelle-Chambertin is elegant, with a long mineral finish. Clos des Monts-Luisants, a premier cru monopole, is a rare Côte de Nuits white made mostly from Aligoté planted in 1911; Cuvée des Alouettes is the red premier cru. Reds are destemmed, fermented on native yeasts in wooden vats without added sulphur, and aged 16–24 months in used barrels, never new oak.
