About Chateau Malescot St. Exupery

Malescot St. Exupéry, a Margaux third growth owned by the Zuger family, farms 28 ha in the village of Margaux next to Château Margaux, on gravel, chalk and iron-bearing clay, planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Fermentation uses no added yeast; the grand vin, at least 70% of the crop, then spends 12–14 months in barrels, 70% new, on fine lees with stirring and a single racking, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The estate aims for delicacy of texture and aromatic complexity; Wine with Seth notes dark fruit, subtle floral notes and silky tannins. La Dame de Malescot is the second wine.
