About Chateau Clinet

Château Clinet, run by Ronan Laborde for his family, farms about 11.3 ha at one of the highest points of the Pomerol plateau, on gravelly clay with iron-rich sandy soils. The grand vin is roughly 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, an atypical Cabernet share for Pomerol that pairs silky richness with mineral freshness; the 2024 drew on 90-year-old plateau Merlot. Grapes move by gravity into an underground cellar, and the wine ages about 18 months in barrel, 80% of it new. Expect an elegant, intense, velvety Pomerol with red and blue fruit, garrigue, truffle and sweet spice. Fleur de Clinet is the second wine.
