About Carlisle

Carlisle, Mike and Kendall Officer's Sonoma winery, made mostly single-vineyard old-vine Zinfandel, alongside Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Petite Sirah, two white blends from historic old-vine sites and a Grüner Veltliner. Its signature vineyards sit on the Laguna de Santa Rosa's eastern bench in the Russian River Valley: the 1927 Carlisle Vineyard, a Zinfandel-led field blend in which 43 varieties, among them Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet and Grand Noir, have been identified, and the 1926 Montafi, rich in Alicante Bouschet. Papera, Pagani, Old Hill and Mancini were other key sources. The aim was bold, intense wines made with little intervention. Production ended with the 2024 vintage.
