About Bond

Bond, the Harlan family's project run by Will Harlan, makes 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from five small vineyard crus, each 450–600 cases. Melbury, on clay-rich slopes north of Lake Hennessey, is the most elegant: red fruit and fine, chalky tannins. Quella, an uplifted riverbed of cobbles and volcanic ash, is smoky and supple. St. Eden, a knoll near Screaming Eagle, is dark and plush. Vecina, 11 east-facing alluvial acres beside Harlan Estate, is dense and firmly structured. Pluribus, above 1,000 feet on Spring Mountain, is among the most robust, with deep intensity and firm tannins. Matriarch, the second wine, uses components left out of the cru blends.
