About Domaine William Fèvre

Domaine William Fèvre, owned since 2024 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, farms about 70 ha of Chardonnay on Chablis's Kimmeridgian soils, with roughly 15 ha each of grands and premiers crus. Domaine grands crus are Les Clos (4.11 ha, old vines mostly high on the slope), Bougros (4.12 ha), its very steep Côte des Bougerots sector (2.11 ha), Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir; Grenouilles and Blanchot are bought-in. Premier cru Vaulorent, from Fourchaume's best plots, approaches grand cru richness. Vaudésir ferments on native yeasts; grands crus go 70–80% into older barrels, never new, and the rest into tank, blended after four to six months, for fresh, mineral wines.
